REC Case Study
The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC), is the body which represents the UK recruitment industry. It is a large, complex organisation with many corporate and individual members, different divisions and a diverse range of audiences. The REC represents the £24.5 billion recruitment industry and has over 7,000 corporate and 5,000 individual members.
The Brief
We were commissioned to undertake a major project to overhaul the design style for their branded literature. The brief also required us to produce a complete set of brand guidelines to assist the organisation in maintaining a strong and consistent corporate identity with an immediately recognisable house style.
The Solution
The team spent time researching all of the materials used by the REC and produced an overall design solution for the REC brand. This was then further developed for all of the individual sectors and a template developed for each. The guidelines were produced and used by the REC internally and also for external services companies to accurately and consistently reproduce their marketing communications.
Lucy Geldard, REC Brand Development Manager, commented: “The result is an extremely comprehensive and accessible resource pack comprising design templates and colour palettes which we now use faithfully and share with our members. All published materials now consistently reinforce the organisation’s brand values including a commitment to high standards, good ethics and accountability.”
Nick Burgoyne, Commercial Director at WTD, added: “The REC had brand guidelines in place but these needed to be re-developed to reflect the organisation’s growth, authority and professionalism. Our expertise in brand marketing communications enabled us to work with the REC at a strategic level to help them develop their brand for the long term.”
